Description

Delicious cheesy beef burritos filled with savory ingredients and topped with fresh accompaniments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 8 flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup guacamole
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef:
    • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
    • Drain excess fat and add taco seasoning. Mix well and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Warm the flour tortillas in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
  3. Assemble the Burritos:
    • Place a generous scoop of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla.
    • Add a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
    • Roll up the tortillas tightly, enclosing the filling.
  4. Bake the Burritos:
    • Place the burritos seam side down in a baking dish.
    • Sprinkle more cheese on top of the burritos.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  5. Prepare the Toppings:
    • In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, and chopped cilantro.
  6. Serve:
    • Top the burritos with the tomato mixture, sour cream, and guacamole.
    • Garnish with sliced avocado.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try adding minced garlic or a splash of lime juice to the beef mixture.
  • If you prefer spicier burritos, consider adding chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the fillings.
  • To make the burritos extra crispy, you can lightly pan-fry them in a skillet with a little oil before baking.
  • Feel free to substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
