Description

Delicious and savory jalapeño bacon bites perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/4 cup chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well combined and set aside.
  2. Form the Bites: Using your hands, take about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used.
  3. Coating: Place the beaten eggs in one bowl and the breadcrumbs in another. Dip each cheese ball into the egg, allowing excess to drip off, then roll it in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  4. Frying: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the coated balls in batches for about 2-3 minutes each, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Garnish: Sprinkle chopped chives over the fried jalapeño bacon bites for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, do not fully seed the jalapeños or add an extra one.
  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
  • These bites can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes if you prefer a healthier option.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce such as ranch or a spicy aioli for extra flavor.
