- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 tub whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Fresh cherries for garnish
- Chocolate syrup for drizzle
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package directions.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake as directed.
- Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the surface of the cake.
- Spread the cherry pie filling over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
- Spread the whipped topping over the cherry layer, covering the entire cake.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the whipped topping.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top and garnish with fresh cherries and additional chocolate chips if desired.
