Description

A delightful chocolate cake topped with cherry pie filling and whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs (required for the cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup oil (required for the cake mix)
  • 1 cup water (required for the cake mix)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 tub whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Fresh cherries for garnish
  • Chocolate syrup for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box.
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to the package directions.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake as directed.
  5. Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  6. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the surface of the cake.
  7. Spread the cherry pie filling over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
