Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 slices pepperoni
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- ½ cup sliced olives (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large circle that can fit a deep dish pan.
- Cook the Filling:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and bell pepper, and sauté until they begin to soften. Add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned. Stir in garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Add mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and drain excess fat if necessary.
- Assemble the Pizza Pie:
Grease a deep dish pan and line with the rolled-out dough, pressing it against the bottom and sides of the pan. Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the base. Layer the cooked beef mixture evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese across the beef layer. Arrange pepperoni, olives, and any additional toppings over the cheese.
- Bake:
Place the pan in the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve:
Allow the pizza pie to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
