Description

This French Onion Rice Bake is a delicious and easy dish that combines white rice, French onion soup, and butter for a flavorful side.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 20 ounces French onion soup (condensed (Campbell’s))
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread 2 cups of uncooked white rice evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
  3. Pour 2 cans (2 1/2 cups) of condensed French onion soup over the rice.
  4. Pour 1 1/2 cups of water over the rice and soup.
  5. Cut a stick of butter (1/2 cup) into 8 slices and place the butter slices evenly over the rice mixture.
  6. Cover the dish with foil, sealing the edges tightly around the pan to ensure the steam stays trapped and cooks the rice evenly.
  7. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  8. Remove foil layer and fluff with a fork before serving.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, consider using brown rice instead of white rice.
