Description
Delicious and simple glazed baby potatoes, perfect as a side dish.
Ingredients

- 1 lb (450 g) baby potatoes, halved or quartered
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Rinse and cut the baby potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
- Heat neutral oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the potatoes and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the edges start to turn golden.
- Add minced garlic to the pan and stir for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in water, soy sauce, sugar, and maple syrup. Mix well and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 15-18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and most of the liquid has reduced to a glaze.
- Stir in sesame oil. Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds before serving.

- This dish pairs well with grilled meats.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar or maple syrup.
