Description

A delicious recipe for Savory Salmon Patties that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked salmon, flaked
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon and breadcrumbs. Add the beaten eggs and mix well.
  2. Add Seasonings: Stir in the onion, parsley, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Form Patties: Shape the mixture into patties, about 3 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to firm up.
  4. Cook the Patties: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve: Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • If the mixture is too dry, add a little more mayonnaise or a splash of milk.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
  • These patties can also be baked at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, for a healthier option.
  • Consider adding chopped green onions or dill for extra flavor.
  • Serve with tartar sauce or a side salad for a refreshing contrast.
