Description

A creamy and cheesy dip with a kick, perfect for parties or as a flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 ounces American cheese
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons pickled jalapeño juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter completely.
  2. Whisk in the flour and stir for about one minute to cook out the raw flavor.
  3. Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth and slightly thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the American and cheddar cheeses. Stir until melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in jalapeño juice, salt, and garlic powder. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve warm as a dip or sauce. Reheat with a splash of milk to maintain texture.

Notes

  • This dip can also be used as a sauce over nachos or pasta.
  • To make it spicier, add more jalapeño juice or chopped jalapeños.
