Description
Delicious and healthy chocolate date energy balls made with natural ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dates (fresh is best you want them SOFT)
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup chocolate protein powder (I used Ritual)
- 3 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (can sub honey, agave, or even almond butter)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (dark preferred)
- 1 tsp coconut oil (for melting)
- Topping: drizzle of more chocolate and flaky sea salt on top
Instructions
- Blend dates in a food processor until a sticky paste forms.
- Add almond flour, cacao powder, chocolate protein powder, vanilla, maple syrup, and salt. Blend until thick and fudgy.
- Roll into bite-sized balls and place on a lined tray. Freeze for 15–20 minutes (this helps the chocolate set perfectly).
- Microwave chocolate chips and coconut oil in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Using a fork, dip each ball into melted chocolate, tap off excess, and place back on parchment. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if using.
- Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until chocolate hardens, drizzle with chocolate, freeze again, and then top with flaky sea salt.
Notes
- Ensure dates are soft for better blending.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of maple syrup.
