Description
Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (for dough)
- 3 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted (for filling)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- ⅓ cup honey
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Warm the milk slightly and combine it with ⅓ cup sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the mixture. Gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead using a stand mixer for 5–6 minutes or by hand for 10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
- Roll up tightly from the long edge and cut into 1-inch slices.
- Arrange buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–18 minutes or until golden.
- Mix honey, powdered sugar, and milk to form glaze. Pour over warm buns and let it set.
Notes
- Ensure the milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly.
- For best results, allow the rolls to rise in a warm, draft-free environment.
