Description
A delicious treat that combines vanilla wafers, nuts, cocoa, and bourbon, all wrapped in a chocolate coating.

- 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans (or walnuts)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (optional)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or vegetable oil)
- Extra chopped nuts for rolling (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed vanilla wafers, chopped pecans, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder. Mix well until all dry ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Gradually add in the bourbon while stirring the mixture until it begins to hold together. If you’re using shredded coconut, you can mix it in at this point.
- Once the mixture is uniform, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- After chilling, use your hands to form small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Meanwhile, in a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips with the coconut oil. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Dip each bourbon ball into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s completely coated. Use a fork to lift the ball out, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
- Place the chocolate-dipped balls back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. If desired, roll the balls in additional chopped nuts before the chocolate sets.
- Once all the balls are dipped, refrigerate the tray for about 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden completely.
- Serve the bourbon balls chilled or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
