Description

This delightful mixed nut praline is a sweet and crunchy treat, perfect for snacking or gifting!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped mixed nuts (such as pecans, almonds, and walnuts)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup crushed cookies (like digestive or graham crackers)
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. This will prevent the praline from sticking once set.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture melts and comes to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, allow it to bubble without stirring for about 5 minutes, or until it reaches a golden amber color. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully stir in the heavy cream. Be cautious as the mixture may bubble up vigorously.
  5. Add the chopped mixed nuts, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the pan, stirring well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  6. Quickly pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Immediately sprinkle the crushed cookies over the warm praline mixture, ensuring an even distribution.
  8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Once melted, drizzle the dark chocolate over the praline and cookie mixture.
  9. Repeat the melting process with the white chocolate chips and drizzle it on top of the dark chocolate for a beautiful finish.
  10. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon over the top for added flavor and aroma.
  11. Allow the praline mixture to cool completely at room temperature for at least 1-2 hours or until it hardens.
  12. Once set, break the praline into pieces and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
