Ingredients

- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 lemon (zest)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
- In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice, cooking for another minute.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and pour the lemon garlic butter mixture over the rice.
- Add the chopped herbs and black pepper, mixing gently to combine all ingredients.
- Serve warm as a side dish or light main course.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add additional herbs to the rice.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
