Description

These garlic knots are fluffy, buttery, and packed with flavor, making them a perfect addition to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy to activate the yeast.
  2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms, starting with 2 1/2 cups of flour.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into strips and tie each strip into a knot.
  7. Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over the knots and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm for the best experience.

Notes

  • Can substitute garlic with garlic powder if preferred.
  • Adjust flour based on humidity for desired dough consistency.
  • Best served fresh out of the oven.
